Singapore: Everyone spoke English in Singapore. We met some very friendly people and talkative there. Here a normal conversation is very inviting after traveling around Asia. Especially without knowing how to verbally communicate with someone, which happens in other countries. All of the street signs are in English and so are the buildings. The most helpful was that the public transportation was in English also. Many people there are from somewhere else, but they have a good core of English with little bit of an European Accent. This is just showing how progressive Singapore is as a country. It is tiny but has the ability to communicate to so many people in the world with its uses of language.
Philippines: This was another place that everyone spoke English even in the tiniest regions people could hold a conversation. The main language is Tagalog, but there are many different dialects of languages in the PI because of the many islands. That is the reason most people have taken up some English. Also people have been influenced with the Western culture. Found this was the only country I could watch NBA Basketball or ESPN at most places, which was great since it was an authentic English feed. Not hard to find someone that can handle a full conversation with you in English to show you directions or order food. They sound like someone from Hawaii almost with the accent when speaking English. Most importantly Filipinos are some of the nicest people.

Hong Kong: From my understanding one of Hong Kong’s languages is English. The main language is Mandarin or Cantonese. This is another place that has all the traffic signs in English. The British background is still alive and well with the left side driving and building styles. When you go to almost any restaurant or even the carts you won’t have a problem ordering or getting some directions.

The shopping is top rated since people from all over the globe are there, English is the language you will hear spoke when bartering. HK barely Edges Thailand for the third spot because Thailand someone might know English, but it might be hard to hear them or you have only one speaker among a group of people.
